Twenty years ago, our first bamboo cutting boards emerged from the scraps of the handmade furniture we were selling at street festivals. On a whim, we brought them to an art show we were exhibiting in, and were stunned when they sold out in minutes. Joanne looked at Tom and said, "this is our new product," and Totally Bamboo was born.

The Totally Bamboo Kauai Serving & Cutting Board is one of the original bamboo cutting boards, and the perfect addition to any kitchen. Beautifully crafted from natural, sustainable Moso bamboo, the two-toned board brings a touch of island style to your kitchen. It features caps of natural light bamboo flanking the main cutting surface of rich caramelized bamboo.

When the food prep is done, the Kauai Cutting Board cleans easily with hand washing; do not soak or wash in the dishwasher. Bamboo is gentler on knives than plastic and easier to clean and maintain than hardwood— it cleans quickly with hand washing in warm water. As a grass, its roots remain and quickly regrow after harvest. It's grown organically even on difficult terrain without artificial irrigation or re-planting. Its root system helps to prevent erosion, and the Moso bamboo used by Totally Bamboo is not a part of the panda's diet.
